Toxascaris leonina: T. Leonina is a species of roundworm that infect both dogs and cats. After an
animal ingests infective eggs, the eggs hatch and the larvae mature within the small intestine. The adult
female worm lays eggs which are passed in the feces. The eggs become infective after remaining in
the environment for at least 3-6 days. Animal become infected if they eat something
contaminated with infected feces. Mice and other small rodents often act as the
intermediate hosts of T. leonina.

Roundworms are the most common parasite of the digestive tract in dogs and cats.

INDICATIONS: Consult your veterinarian for assistance in diagnosis,
treatment and control of parasites. For removal of large roundworms
(ascarids) (Toxocara cati and Toxascaris leonina) in kittens and adult
cats.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: 200 mg piperazine per 5 lb body
weight.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Push the plunger just enough to the
weights marking that corresponds wot the weight of the cat, then add
to the cats food. To be sure the full dose is taken, mix it well with
only one-half of the cats regular feeding. When the cat has fi nished
eating the dosed food, give the balance of meal or smear on the cats
paw or fur where it can be licked off. For animals 1 year or younger,
adminsiter every 2 or 3 months; for animals over 1 year of age,
adminsiter periodically as necessary. A repeat treatment should be
give in 10 to 20 days to remove immature roundworms which may
have entered the intesting from the lungs after the fi rst dose. If your
cat looks or acts sick, consult your veterinarian before treatment.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Piperazine (from adipate) 800 mg (20.0%)
PRECAUTIONS: Although piperazine is a drug with a wide margin
of safety, occasionally an animal may show nausea or muscular
tremors. Side effects are usually associated with overdosage;
therfore, recommended dosages should only be followed carefully.
Animal with known kidney pathology should be treated by a
veterinarian.

STORAGE: Store out of direct sunlight and at room temperature
between 15º-30ºC (59º-86ºF). Keep container tightly closed when not
in use.

Do Not Use on Sick or Debilitated Cats.

Do Not Use on Kittens Less Than 8 Weeks of Age.

Toxocara Cati: Cats may become infected with T. cati in three ways: ingestion of parasite eggs, ingestion of the
intermediate host and ingestion of larvae via the mother’s milk. Encysted larvae can migrate to the queen’s mammary
tissue and pass infection on to nursing kittens. Small rodents, beetles and earthworms often act as the intermediate
hosts of T. cati.
