What is this product used for
Program Flavor Tabs are available in
4 strengths for oral administration to dogs and puppies and cats and kittens
6 weeks of age and older according to their weight. This product is a once a
month flavored tablet that is used to prevent and control flea populations
in dogs. This product does not kill adult fleas rather it controls flea
populations by preventing the development of flea eggs.
Program Suspension is available in 2
strengths for oral administration to cats and kittens 6 weeks of age and
older according to their weight. This product is given once a month for the
control of flea populations. Program Suspension does not kill adult fleas,
but effectively and safely controls flea populations on the pet through a
mode of action which breaks the fleas life cycle at the egg stage.
Availability
Program Flea Control is a non-prescription (OTC) product.
How this product should be used
Program Flavor Tabs is administered once a
month, preferably on the same day each month. Program Flavor Tabs are
available in 4 packages, for dogs up to 10 lbs, for dogs 11-20 lbs, for dogs
21-45 lbs and for dogs 46 to 90 lbs. Dogs over 90 lbs should receive the
appropriate combination of tablets. Program Flavor Tabs should be given
immediately after, or in conjunction with, a meal.
Program Suspension is administered once a
month, preferably on the same day each month. Program Suspension is
available in 2 packages for cats up to 10 lbs and for cats 11-20 lbs. Cats
over 20 lbs are given the appropriate combination of packets. Program
Suspension should be administered by mixing the correct dose into 2
tablespoonfuls of food. In multiple cat households it is important to treat
each cat separately to ensure adequate dosing.
What are the side effects
Adverse reactions which have been reported in dogs include vomiting,
depression/lethargy, itching, hives, diarrhea, loss of appetite and skin
congestion (red skin).
What special precautions are there
This product must be given monthly. In geographical areas where flea
infestations are seasonal, the treatment schedule should begin several weeks
prior to the expected onset of infestations. Treatments should continue
until the end of the flea season. Consult your veterinarian. Give this
product with or immediately after a meal.

Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.
How should I store this product
Store this product at room temperature between 59° and 86°F. Keep out of
the reach of children and pets.
